Dan Kiley

Dan Kiley is a 23 year veteran of the financial planning and investment advisory industry.  As the President of Retirement University, Dan's primary responsibility is to make certain that the University delivers the retirement strategies, products, and services necessary so that each enrolled family can achieve their financial objectives during retirement.

Dan's mission is to constantly improve the standard of service that is delivered in the retirement planning and financial services industries.  As a practicing Regisitered Investment Advisor, Dan's company was one of the region's earliest  companies providing independent, fee-based, investment advice.  Additionally, Dan is the creator of the "Family Master Plan", a detailed roadmap for families entering the retirement phase of their life. 

Dan is also a familiar spokesperson for the industry, having participated as a local expert on financial planning issues for both Fox 19 and WLWT Channel 5.  Additionally, he has been quoted on the AP Wire, the Wall St. Journal, Cincinnati Business Courier, NY Times, and Smart Money Magazine.

In his role as a retirement investing specialist, Dan regularly meets with money managers at companies such as American Funds, Wells Fargo, Van Kampen, J.P. Morgan and Fidelity.  These meetings provide the contacts and research necessary to provide enrolled families with prudent investment planning strategies.

Dan is a 1981 graduate of Harvard University. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners. Dan is also on the board of a charitable organization called Boy's Hope-Girl's Hope in Cincinnati, OH.

Outside of work, Dan enjoys all types of sports including golf, water and snow skiing, and jogging.

Dan and his wife Robin are busy at home with their 6 year-old son Charlie and their youngest son David, who is now 4.  Daughter Kelsey, age 18, and son William, age 15, are active with school, sports and helping with Charlie and David.

As a Director of Retirement Planning Class Curriculum, Chris works with both new and existing families to establish and maintain the proper strategies for their retirement plans.  

Chris has obtained both his Certified Financial Planner designation as well as the Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist Designation from the College of Financial Planning. Additionally, he is a licensed Registered Investment Advisor.  Chris is also a member of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Financial Planning Association.  Active in volunteer work, Chris has been on the Cincinnati Board for Diversion Foster Care, a foster care agency that works with at-risk displaced children.

Chris is a 1990 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, earning a Bachelor of Arts as a History major and Business minor. He spent seven years in the paper manufacturing industry gaining experience with both Champion International and Domtar Papers in finance and sales. During this time, Chris gained valuable management and coaching skills, which he now brings to Retirement University.


His wife Marla was a 6th grade teacher at St. James Elementary in White Oak for ten years until the arrival of their first child in February 2000. They added twin boys, Carson and Cameron to their family in 2001. Chris and Marla enjoy snow skiing, water-skiing and boating, not to mention the occasional Notre Dame football game!
